AT THE MATERIAL LEVEL

Material

Use a material with a recycling channel

üIncorporate recycled or bio-based material

Prefer mono-materials when designing the packaging and/or closure

Limit the use of different materials for the container and the closure

Avoid combinations of materials that disrupt the sorting channel (compatibility of packaging components with the main material)

Use a protection barrier that is compatible with recycling of the main material For example: The presence of aluminium interferes with plastic recycling. EVOH alternatives are recommended

Prefer pumps without a metal spring

Pay attention to the choice of seal: thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), silicone and aluminium seals disrupt recycling lines Prefer self-sealing or recyclable PE or PE/EVOH seals
AT THE LEVEL OF COMPLETING

Prefer a label in the same material as the bottle and avoid PVC, PS and PETG labels

Prefer screen printing with non-toxic inks rather than a label

Reduce the use of metallic colours or highly coloured flat tints

Use self-coloured packaging, favouring light and translucent colours

In case of black or dark colours, avoid carbon black
-
Limit the use of additives and colourants
Communicate on good sorting practice
